What is Pilates?
Pilates is a physical fitness system designed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century to elongate, strengthen and restore balance to
the body. It is a complete body workout based around the development of the body’s core stability; the back, abdominals and pelvis. It’s aim is
to improve physical and mental health through increasing flexibility and agility while toning and strengthening the muscles.
Pilates is now widely recommended by osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners as one of the safest forms of exercise. It is perfect
for just about anyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

I have a background in the health and fitness industry, having worked as a personal trainer in both the gym and home environment. I have a
passionate belief that everyone can be pain free and with the right guidance, can obtain their body's optimum level of function, whatever that
may be for each individual client.
I first studied massage alongside fitness with Premier Training International in Cambridge, obtaining a diploma in Personal Training,
Nutritional Advice and Sports Therapy with a special interest in weight management. I then went on to qualify as a studio instructor and later
trained in London to become a STOTT certified Pilates Instructor.
Health and wellbeing are to me, the most important ingredients to a happy and functional lifestyle. I believe that by combining relevant
components from different areas of the health and fitness industry, the client can receive a well rounded and personable treatment tailored
to their needs and desires.
